BJP MP Nishikant Dubey reacted to the apology issued by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg regarding the temporary removal of a video featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Dubey described the development as a victory for India’s laws, its Constitution, and Parliament itself. He added that it reflects the strength of the Prime Minister’s leadership over 1.4 billion citizens, asserting that any company doing business in India must comply with Indian law.

Disruptions were not limited to Thursday alone. On Wednesday, the Rajya Sabha passed a bill to increase the number of Supreme Court judges, following its earlier clearance in the Lok Sabha. Yet opposition uproar forced the Lok Sabha to adjourn until Thursday morning. JMM MP Mahua Majhi used the opportunity to contrast the Centre’s handling of the paper leak issue with Jharkhand’s response, claiming swift action, including the resignation of the responsible chairman and an ongoing CID probe, had been taken in her state.
Kharge Presses Centre Over Temple Donation Allegations
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Rajya Sabha, seeking answers over allegations of misappropriation involving donations and offerings received by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust in Ayodhya. Kharge pointed out that the trust was constituted by the central government and its formation was announced by the Prime Minister himself in Parliament, with over 70 acres of land subsequently transferred to it. He demanded a comprehensive discussion on the matter within the House.
BJP Hits Back, Accuses Opposition of Deliberate Obstruction
The Bharatiya Janata Party countered by accusing the Congress and its allies in the INDIA bloc of intentionally obstructing the Monsoon Session. BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra alleged at a press briefing that despite crores of rupees being spent on every session, repeated disruptions during Question Hour and Zero Hour were preventing MPs from raising issues concerning their constituencies. The party further claimed that opposition conduct on matters like the paper leak controversy and student protests reflected a double standard.
Congress Insists Government Is Avoiding Accountability
Congress leaders maintained that the government’s reluctance to respond on sensitive issues, including the temple donation controversy and the madrasa dispute in Uttar Pradesh, was the real reason Parliament was unable to function smoothly. Party MPs argued that if the government addressed these concerns directly in the House, the ongoing gridlock could be resolved without further disruption.
