Lucknow-Before Diwali, the Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh is going to give a big gift to women. Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana on Diwali this year, the UP government will give free LPG cylinders to 1.85 crore beneficiaries. Regarding this, CM Yogi Adityanath has issued an order and directed the officials to make all kinds of arrangements before Diwali so that all the beneficiaries can get the benefit of this scheme on time.
UP CM Yogi Adityanath said in his order, 'Free LPG cylinders are to be distributed to all the beneficiaries of 'Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana' on the occasion of Diwali. In this regard, all formalities should be completed in time. In every case, LPG cylinders should be made available to all beneficiaries before Diwali.
Last year, 85 lakh beneficiaries got free cylinders
The UP government will provide free LPG cylinders to 1.85 crore beneficiaries on Diwali under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana this year. Last year, 85 lakh women beneficiaries had received free LPG cylinders under the scheme. Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, apart from Diwali, an LPG cylinder will also be given free on Holi.
Central and state governments will give subsidy
Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, the central government subsidy Rs 300 on LPG cylinders, while the state government will give the rest of the money. Under this scheme, the beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme will have to take an LPG cylinder first. After this, the subsidy amount will be sent to their account. However, the bank account has to be linked to the Aadhaar card.
